After three years of cooperation to support the development of Renewable Energy Communities across Europe, the LEEWAY project will culminate in its Final Event, taking place from 16 to 18 September in Ferrara (Italy). The initiative will be hosted by SIPRO, the project's Lead Partner, in the framework of RemTech Expo, a leading European conference and exhibition on environmental remediation and technologies.

The event will bring together policymakers, public authorities, energy agencies, researchers and local stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the project's key achievements, exchange experiences and explore how Renewable Energy Communities can accelerate the clean energy transition. 

"Hosting the LEEWAY Final Event during RemTech Expo provides the perfect opportunity to present the project's results and foster dialogue on the future of Renewable Energy Communities. Emilia-Romagna has played a pioneering role in supporting RECs, so it will be very interesting to see the exchange of experiences both within the region and with our international partners," said Giada Spadoni, EU Project Manager at SIPRO.

The three-day programme will include:

• 16 September: a session dedicated to Renewable Energy Community experiences in Emilia-Romagna (in Italian);
• 17 September: the LEEWAY Final Conference, featuring keynote speeches, round tables and networking opportunities with project partners and stakeholders;
• 18 September: a session on local energy transition with the participation of the European Climate Pact Ambassadors (in English).
